About Canine Steady LLC

Canine Steady is a one-person business in Vinton run by a trainer who introduces herself simply as Kate: "I am a trainer currently working within the Vinton, Bedford, Moneta, and greater Roanoke Virginia area."

What is bookable today

This is the unusual part, and the site is straightforward about it. The only service the site currently asks you to book is boarding – it directs visitors to "visit our services page for policies, pricing and to submit a boarding request." Training is described as an approach and a philosophy rather than as a purchasable program, so ask whether training can be booked.

Background

She moved back to the area in 2022 after nearly twenty years away, worked first at a large daycare and training facility in Vinton where she eventually taught large group classes, then at a Roanoke veterinary office as a kennel attendant, vet assistant and kennel manager. She has fostered through local organizations, including a mother and a litter of eleven in 2023.

Method and credentials

The approach is described as "reward driven learning (they earn as they learn), to teach dogs how to make good choices, build confidence and become your best companion." She is direct about credentials: "While Canine Steady does not currently hold any certifications, I am constantly seeking out education materials to broaden my knowledge". She also notes that "While Canine Steady is a one person operation", her own animals help boarders settle.

Good to know

Boarding pricing and policies are on the services page; ask whether training can be booked separately.
