About Cassie’s Dog Training

Positive reinforcement training in Northwood

Cassie's Dog Training is a fully insured positive reinforcement training business based in Northwood, New Hampshire, working with dogs of all ages and experience in Northwood and surrounding areas. Trainer Cassie is Karen Pryor Dog Academy certified, and she describes using science-backed methods to build compassionate and effective behavior modification plans. She follows Dr. Susan Friedman's Humane Hierarchy of Behavior Change, using the least intrusive methods, and frames problem behavior around the question "What's the function?" Training is presented as a way to strengthen the relationship between owner and dog.

Services and pricing

An hour-long consultation, in person or virtual, may be required before training starts, and it is used to build a custom plan; it costs $100, and a free ten minute phone call can be booked by email. Private lessons run an hour each, in person at the client's home or virtually over Google Meet with recordings emailed afterward: $150 a la carte, $580 for four, $840 for six and $1,080 for eight. Day training, where Cassie works one-on-one with the dog at the client's home, comes with thirty-minute transfer sessions: four lessons plus one transfer session for $652, six plus one for $910, and eight plus two for $1,147.

Beyond training

Cassie volunteers with Mary's Dogs, a local rescue, and shares her home with her dogs Penelope and Fable.
