Central Bark Durham
Overview
About Central Bark Durham
Central Bark Durham is at 725 Iredell Street in Durham, part of the Central Bark group. It is daycare-led – the branch describes its Enrichment Dog Day Care as the heart of what it calls a Whole Dog Care approach – but its own branch page publishes training as one of its services: "We also offer dog boarding, baths, grooming, market, training, and more."
Training
The published training description is force-free and positive-reinforcement based, aimed at building confidence, manners and lifelong skills. Classes are offered for puppies and for adults, running from basic obedience through to more advanced skills. What is less usual is that training can also be folded into a daycare day, so the dog learns through play, enrichment and structure while it is there anyway – the branch describes individualized sessions and options taken during day care.
Free Puppy Hour
The branch runs a free supervised play session for puppies in the eight-to-sixteen-week window, guided by trained enrichment staff, aimed at building confidence, social skills and healthy play habits while the puppies meet new sights, sounds and other dogs. Owners get training tips at the same time. It is offered at no cost.
Daycare and the rest
Daycare runs in small playgroups sorted by size, temperament and play style, with enrichment activities, routine schedules and rest built into the day. Boarding, a grooming salon using positive handling, and a retail market complete the services. The branch publishes its own phone number and email address and takes bookings directly.
