Grooming, boarding and training in Spring

Chixie is a dog grooming, boarding and daycare business at 22318 Interstate 45 in Spring. Owner Monica, known as the "doodle queen", has groomed and run her own business since 2017, after earning her grooming certificate in 2016. Salon manager Rebecca has worked across grooming, bathing, training and daycare.

Training

Chixie trains in affiliation with Aly's Puppy Boot Camp, serving Spring, The Woodlands and beyond. Its philosophy centers on a balanced relationship between owner and dog, with the goal of teaching a dog to choose calm rather than merely comply. The overnight 4-week board and train is built for puppies 16 weeks to one year, covering potty and crate training, socialization, leash manners and the cues "let's go", sit, come on leash, place, wait, no, quiet, paws up, paws down and off, plus handling and grooming manners. It includes 25 daily homework emails to owners, an in-person graduation and a "go home" folder with transition protocols. The Pillars of Pack Leadership online academy, with 35+ videos, covers structure, rituals, purpose-driven activities, respect of space and the human component.
