Positive training on the North Shore

Coachable Canines is based in Highland Park and serves North Shore towns including Bannockburn, Deerfield, Evanston, Glencoe, Glenview, Lake Forest, Northbrook, Skokie, Wilmette and Winnetka. The owner is a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner and a Fear Free Certified Professional.

In-home training

Private in-home training needs a minimum of two sessions. The two-session package suits new puppy preparation and basic manners. The four-session package targets puppy foundation skills, multiple behaviors and loose leash walking. A puppy package adds a pre-puppy prep session, orientation video, socialization checklist and enrichment guide. Published prices run from $260 for two sessions.

Drop-off day training

For puppies 9 to 20 weeks old, a five-day drop-off program runs at the trainer's home in Highland Park. It covers name recognition, sit, down, leave it, targeting and relaxing on a mat, with daily progress videos and a transfer session at your home afterward.

Method

Training uses positive reinforcement methods, with an emphasis on reducing fear, anxiety and stress.
