About Coastal Canine Academy

What they offer

Coastal Canine Academy offers private lessons at your home anywhere in the tri-county area, by appointment seven days a week, and group classes. Private lessons can include more than one dog.

Approach

The site describes positive reinforcement using clicker training: finding what motivates the dog, without punishment. All classes are reward based, clickers are provided when needed, and prong and choke collars are not allowed. Dogs that are aggressive toward people or other dogs are steered to private sessions; vaccination proof and pre-registration are required for classes.

Who runs it

The About page names the trainer as Jill, a full member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the Charleston Dog Training Club and a certified Pet CPR/First Aid instructor.
