About Cohesive Canine LLC

Cohesive Canine is Christina Evans's practice, working in homes across Syracuse and Central New York. She lists CPDT-KA, ACDBC and LFDM-T after her name and is Vice President of the American Pit Bull Foundation. Her CPDT certification is confirmed against the CCPDT's New York register.

The two programs

Everything is sold as a ninety-day program rather than by the session, and there are two. The Starter Program is for puppies and newly adopted dogs and covers basic obedience, manners and foundation skills, with the stated aim of clarity, confidence and connection from the start. The Advanced Program is for dogs already struggling with reactivity, anxiety, aggression or more complex behavior. Both are hybrids: one-to-one coaching, in-person training clinics, and ongoing virtual support in between.

What she works on

The published list is leash reactivity and pulling, barking, fear and anxiety, jumping, nipping and play biting, resource guarding and aggression, basic manners and impulse control, and puppy foundations and socialization.

The part that is distinctive

The practice puts unusual weight on families with children. Its stated mission includes safe interactions and preventing bites to children, and it teaches boundaries so that dogs and families can be together safely. That focus follows from her wider work: she entered animal welfare in 2014 volunteering with a local pit bull rescue, and now advocates nationally for the breed and works on surrender prevention with rescue organizations.

Getting started

The entry point is a free thirty-minute consultation to decide which of the two programs fits. Office hours are Monday to Thursday 8am to 6pm and Friday and Saturday 8am to 3pm.
