About Companion Acres
Daycare, boarding and training in Rochester
Companion Acres is a Rochester dog daycare, boarding and training business owned by Allison, who has worked professionally with dogs since 2015. Playcare groups dogs by who they play well with, boarding dogs sleep in pods with a team member overnight, and owners get photo updates through the day.
Training approach
Training centers on a calm, confident dog and the relationship between owner and dog, focusing on real-life skills such as stress-free walks. Every program includes two PAWrent Teacher Conferences, hands-on sessions that teach owners to continue at home. Many dogs train with The Sidekick, a tool from Heather's Heroes described as gentle guidance for excitement, anxiety, leash reactivity and fear.
Programs
Board & Train runs 7 days and 6 nights with three training sessions a day. Day Training covers 6 training days over 2 weeks, Monday to Wednesday, also with three daily sessions while the dog goes home each evening. Both include two owner sessions, a Heather's Heroes training book and a Sidekick.
What owners say
One client wrote, "I love that it is a small business and it truly feels like family."
