About Compatible Companions Dog Services

Positive reinforcement training in Harker Heights

Compatible Companions Dog Services is a dog training and small-dog care business in Harker Heights run by trainer Sandy, who cites over 30 years of professional positive reinforcement training experience. Her philosophy is "First Do No Harm": training should be pain free for dog and owner, with no need for prong collars, shock collars or leash jerks. She embraced clicker training early and later worked as a Senior Dog Trainer Mentor at Petco for 5+ years before moving to Texas.

Training

Training is a series of six private lessons at Sandy's place, ideally once a week for an hour, building a communication system with positive reinforcement only. Dogs learn sit, down, come, stay, wait, leave it, heel, take, give and drop, plus help with potty training, barking or digging. Graduates are invited into group class sessions, several of them free, as spots open.

Other services

Daycare (half or full days) and boarding in the family home are for small dogs under 15 lbs, with training available for an extra fee. Pet sitting visits are offered in a limited area.
