About Contingency Canine Training

Contingency Canine Training works from a Raleigh address and travels to its clients – "We'll Travel to Train." Its trainer introduces himself directly: "Hi, my name is Jahmaal Benford. As the son of 2 both dog breeders and trainers, I've been training dogs since I was 10 years old. I completed the 'Master Dog Trainer' program at the International School for Dog Trainers in Harmony, NC." That school is not covered by any public North Carolina registry this directory can check, so the credential is recorded as claimed.

What it takes on

The published list is broad and led by hard cases: "I can help you with aggression, stubborn dogs, hyper dogs, puppies, protection work, you name it." Elsewhere the business describes its services as basic and advanced obedience, personal protection, and behavior modification and rehabilitation.

The aggression work, as the business presents it

Its main piece of published evidence is a video case study of an aggression rehabilitation, and the argument it builds around it is worth knowing before you call: "Aggression in dogs can be distressing, and many believe that there's no solution beyond the heartbreaking decision of euthanasia. But that's not the path you have to take." The business states the case took four sessions, and frames its aim as education rather than handover – "Our goal isn't just to train, but to educate."
