About Country Lane Kennel

Training programs

Country Lane Kennel in Chickamauga runs an overall obedience program with three options. In the four-week program the dog stays at the kennel, the owner comes to work with it once a week, and on the second and third weekends the dog goes home to practice; the two-week program is similar but meant for dogs that need help in only a few areas. The third option is private lessons, booked by the hour. Its training page lists the four-week program at $1,500 and the two-week program at $750.

What gets taught

The page names crate training, walking on a leash without pulling, sit and stay, loading up, coming when called, not jumping on people or counters, waiting for food, and socialization. The kennel says its main training tool is a choke chain leash used as a form of correction, and it asks owners to visit first to meet the dog and watch a demonstration.
