About Crossroads K9 Training

About

Crossroads K9 Training is run by Kyleigh, who describes a lifelong background with animals: "Growing up surrounded by animals, I developed a lifelong love and appreciation for dogs. As I learned more about canine behavior and training, I discovered a true passion for helping dogs and their owners build stronger relationships." She has worked with "dogs of all ages, breeds, and backgrounds, including many rescue dogs from shelters," and lives with two dogs of her own, one raised from puppyhood and one welcomed through rehoming.

The name, and the pitch

The business name is the pitch: "Feeling like you've reached a crossroad in your dog's training journey? You don't have to navigate it alone. At Crossroads K9 Training, I'll help you find the path forward by teaching you how to better communicate with your dog, build trust, and achieve lasting results." The three words on the home page are Relationship, Balance, Trust.

Coaching method

The published method has three named steps. Recognize: "It all starts by defining the behavior – if you don't understand what you're trying to teach, neither will your dog." Reward: "you'll learn how to positively reinforce and reward your dog's behavior." Repetition: "Strengthen and polish the skills you've learned by practicing around real-life distractions and challenges."

What is offered

The site publishes individual training, group classes and a Paws In The Park workshop. Plans are built per dog: "Since every dog is unique, I believe training should be too. When you work with me, you'll receive a personalized training plan tailored to your dog's individual needs, personality, and goals."
