About Cultured Canine Dog Training

Cultured Canine Dog Training runs a training center on Quick Silver Drive in Winston-Salem that its own site describes as sprawling "across 37 acres of lush, open land". Two resident pet pigs, Elmer and Gilbert, are used indoors for daily distraction training.

The residency programs and what they cost

Puppy Obedience Inboard is for puppies under six months, concentrating on house manners and potty training alongside sit, down, early leash walking, crate and door waits, public manners, grooming desensitization and socialization; it is $2,000 for two to three weeks with one follow-up lesson at home. Basic Obedience Inboard is for dogs over six months, covering home and public manners, a place command and door waits, at $2,600 – off-leash recall can be added for $1,200 more, making $3,800. That program runs four to six weeks and the site states there is no extra charge if the dog needs to stay longer.

Advanced work and short stays

An Advanced Inboard starts at $2,500 and is customized per dog; the site says it is particularly suited to service and therapy dogs in training. Separately, Board & Train at $80 a night is a shorter option that targets one to three things of the owner's choosing and adds training to a regular boarding stay, with a complimentary private session after four nights.

What comes after

Graduates of the basic program get lifetime follow-ups, including in public, free refresher training folded into any future boarding fee, and free access to group classes for the dog's life. Private sessions start at $100 for an hour and are hosted at the Winston-Salem center.
