About Dan’s Pet Care

Dan's Pet Care is a North Shore pet-care company on Locust Street in Manhasset, launched in 2009 as Dan's Dog Walking and Pet Sitting. Dog training is one of five headline services rather than the whole business, and the training line is priced openly.

What training costs here

The evaluation session is a one-time $85 fee. After that the site publishes two packages: eight sessions at $145 a session, described as a good fit for new puppies and first-time dog owners, and sixteen sessions at $135 a session, marked as the best value and framed for long-term results and longer behavior work. Prices are shown before tax. Very few businesses in this metro print a per-session rate at all.

The service area, named town by town

The site lists where it works: Port Washington, Manhasset, Roslyn, Great Neck, Glen Cove, Glen Head, Sea Cliff, Old Brookville, Greenvale, Locust Valley, Oyster Bay, Huntington and Syosset. That is the North Shore corridor, and it is a useful signal for an owner in one of those villages who wants training and midday walks from one provider.

How the company runs

Custom plans are written per client and delivered by a team rather than a single trainer; the site says its pet care specialists are background-checked, have gone through intensive training and are bonded and insured. Visits are verified with GPS technology, which the company treats as its main operational differentiator – 'we're in the peace of mind business'.

The rest of the menu

Around training sit 10, 30 and 50-minute dog walks, cage-free boarding, in-home overnight pet sitting, doggy adventures, cat and medical visits, and a pet taxi. A regularly updated blog covers local ground, including a guide to choosing among Nassau County dog parks.
