About Dog’s Day Inn Pet Resort

Family-run pet resort in Katy

Dog's Day Inn Pet Resort is a family-owned pet resort in Katy, in the dog boarding and pet care business since 1990, when it began in a small facility in Humble. It now runs resorts in Katy and Cypress offering boarding, daycare, grooming and dog training at all-inclusive rates.

Training program

Training follows a 14-day program focused on five main commands: sit, stay, down, heel and come. The resort says it never uses electronic deterrents and relies on non-treat-based rewards drawn from pet behavior studies, with plenty of play time during the program. At the end, the trainer shows the owner every verbal and hand signal the dog has learned, which is required before the dog goes home.

Facilities

The Katy resort has indoor/outdoor suites with televisions, play yards inside a six-foot perimeter fence, a full-size pool for limited daily swim time (a vet sign-off is required), separate cat condos and full-service grooming. Each dog is assigned a specific caregiver.

Visiting

Boarding drop-off runs 7am-6pm weekdays, 8am-6pm Saturday and 10am-4pm Sunday. Call the Katy location at 281-238-5937.
