About Dog Town Training Academy LLC

Dogtown Training Academy is a training center in Alamance County near Burlington, with easy access from I-85 and I-40. It calls itself a total dog training center, and the published range supports that: it claims over 60 years of combined experience among its trainers, across all breeds and temperaments.

The class ladder

Group classes start at Puppy or Beginner level and progress through Intermediate One and Two, Advanced, and a level the center calls Darn Good Dog. Private lessons are published as the alternative for problem solving, specialized training, or owners who simply prefer one-to-one instruction.

Day training and residency

Puppy Playschool is a weekday day-training program – the dog is dropped off between 7 and 9 in the morning and collected between 4 and 6, either for general manners work or on a custom plan. A Board and Train program is published for owners who cannot attend classes, privates or playschool.

Sport and specialty

Beyond pet training the center publishes nose work, agility and conformation, and positions itself for owners who want to explore competition obedience as well as those solving problems at home. A professional groomer works on site and there is a small retail counter for collars, leads, treats, beds and food.
