About Dog Training Elite Asheville

Dog Training Elite Asheville is the Asheville territory of the Dog Training Elite network, run by owners the branch page names as David and Nicki Webb. David's own bio says he served over twenty-one years in the Air Force before retiring in 2011, and that the couple chose the business after moving to Asheville.

In-home first

The branch's argument for its format is explicit: "we believe in-home dog training is the most effective way to address your dog's needs", because in-home training lets the team observe behavior "within the environment they naturally occur", unlike obedience schools it describes as one-size-fits-all. Group classes are offered as well, but as practice rather than as the core.

Published programs

The branch page lists obedience training, puppy training, service dog training, therapy dog training, group training, and an anxiety and aggression program. Service dog work is described as task training – retrieving items, providing stability, alerting to medical conditions – and starts with a free consultation to evaluate temperament.

Method and tools

The site describes a balanced approach and states that positive reinforcement underpins the work. Client reviews on the page mention an e-collar being recommended and used.
