About Doggie Style NYC
Doggie Style NYC is Ria's practice, based at 170 Vanderbilt Ave in Clinton Hill, and the site's own line about the job is the best description of the problem it solves: living in New York as a dog, where every chicken bone on the sidewalk is an obstacle course and every skateboard or siren reverberates like an earthquake, can be overwhelming.
Who she works with
The three cases named are a hyperactive puppy, a reactive rescue, and an owner who needs to polish basic manners. The training focuses on loose-leash walking, resource guarding, reactivity and general good manners, framed as helping a dog thrive in a human-dominated world.
Method
Positive reinforcement and marker-based training – a clicker-family approach where a marker signals the exact moment the dog got it right, which is well suited to the precision needed for reactivity work at a distance.
Sessions and prices, published in full
An in-person 90-minute consultation is $220 and is described as a full functional assessment plus time on the concerning behaviors. An in-person 60-minute session is $170, positioned as the follow-up that generalizes behaviors and works through issues in different surroundings – which is the step that decides whether the training holds outside the apartment. Discounted packages are offered on these. An online 60-minute session is $150, and the site gives two honest reasons to take one: sometimes there is no time for an in-person session, and sometimes a trainer in the room is too much of a distraction for the dog.
Where she works
The published service area is Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, Downtown Brooklyn, Clinton Hill, Fort Greene, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, Boerum Hill, Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Crown Heights, Williamsburg and Greenpoint.
