About Doggos In Training

Group and private classes with published prices

Doggos in Training is a Madison dog trainer offering "Private or Group Dog Training Class" on a "Positive Reinforcement based" footing. The whole price list is on the page, which is rare at this size of business.

Group classes

Two five-week group courses are listed at $125 each. The Beginner/Puppy course is "the perfect class for new puppies or older dogs that have not had much training. We will go over training basics and give a good foundation for manners and overall obedience. Great for pup socialization and teaching you the best way to work with your pup," and runs "about 30mins-1hour." The Intermediate course requires the beginner class or trainer approval and "starts adding more levels of distraction and duration to challenge your pup. This will help teach your pups to have more consistent behavior in multiple environments." The syllabus is listed as "BASIC OBEDIENCE, SIT, WAIT, DOWN, SOCIALIZATION BASICS, COME WHEN CALLED, LOOSE LEASH WALKING, EXCITED GREETINGS."

Private and virtual

Private options run from a single session at $50 – "great if you have just a couple training questions and want some one on one guidance and a conversation on where to start" – through three sessions at $135 to five sessions at $200, which the page recommends "for dogs who are maybe not quite ready for group training classes or you want more individualized attention from the trainer," adding that it "works well for those with irregular schedules as sessions can be booked on an availability basis." A virtual class at $40 is offered for people outside the Madison area, over Zoom or FaceTime. Custom classes are invited: "DON'T SEE WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR? Get in touch to make a create your own class," and a free consultation is offered.

The trainer

The page is written in the first person: "My name is Keara Duffy and I am a dog trainer in Madison, WI. I have over 4 years of experience working with guide dogs in training, like Haven, as well as operating my own training program through PetSmart previously." She adds that she "graduated from Ripon College with a degree in Psychology" and that training is tailored "to your pet's specific needs."

What is not yet available

Boarding is described as planned rather than current – "Group classes are offered as well as private classes, soon to be expanding into boarding and training services as well" – so it should not be counted on today.
