About Sploot Pet Concierge
Pet care with a force-free trainer on the team
Sploot Pet Concierge provides "In-home pet sitting, Enrichment Walks, and private dog training for dogs, cats, birds, and small animals across Fitchburg, Madison, Middleton, and Verona." Training is one of four listed services rather than the whole business, but it is staffed by a named professional trainer rather than treated as an add-on.
The training service
It is described on the home page as "Force-free, science-based training personalized to your dog and your life. From fundamentals to reactivity." The dog-specific block adds the range: "From enrichment walks to overnight care, reactive dog support to training, all of it built around your individual dog."
The trainer
The about page introduces "Ellen Schneiderman – Force Free Trainer," who writes that she has "been training dogs, birds of prey, horses, and other animals for nearly 30 years" and that she "Recently … moved to Madison from Milwaukee, where I ran a successful private dog training and walking business." On qualifications she says: "As a professional animal trainer, I've completed rigorous coursework in Animal Training for Professionals through NEI, inc. My training is scientifically sound, fun, motivational, and positive." She adds that she is "honored to have helped over 300 families and nearly 1,000 dogs become more confident, calm, and responsive."
How the business works
Four commitments are stated on the home page. Fear Free: "Every member of our team is trained in a Fear Free approach. That means low-stress, choice-led care that puts your pet's emotional well-being at the center of every visit." Enrichment-first: "Every visit is an opportunity to make your pet's day genuinely better. Enrichment isn't extra – it's essential." Consistent caregiver pairing: "Your pet works with the same caregiver every time. That familiarity builds real trust, which is especially important for shy, anxious, or senior animals." And every species welcome, from dogs and cats to rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas. The site also states that the team is "Insured, bonded, and Fear Free Certified" and holds "Pet First Aid and CPR certification."
The founder
Jenny Persha is listed as Founder. She writes that "In 2015 I began helping friends care for their pets," and that during "the rise of 'pandemic puppies' and gig-style pet care apps, I saw a need for something more personal, professional, and relationship-based." The name is explained too: "Many of the pets I cared for adored the sploot position, which inspired our name."
