About Dogpeople Embark LLC

Off-leash training adventures in Austin

Dogpeople Embark LLC, known as Dogembark, is an Austin adventure education and enrichment business founded by Lalanya "Lala" Buchheit and Ezekiel Buchheit. Lala moved to Austin in 2008 for a dog training internship, graduated from Animal Behavior College and taught puppy classes at Casa de Luz before the couple founded Dogembark. They describe themselves as specialists in puppy training, and a six-acre family property has served as their private dog behavior laboratory.

Approach

Dogembark aims to build the "with you anywhere, forever" dog. Its adventures reinforce good canine skills in an off-leash pack setting, built on trust, consistency, structure and shared experience. The team sees many behavior problems as symptoms of under-stimulation and works through physical exercise, mental stimulation and scent enrichment.

Services and prices

Training Adventures are 90-minute off-leash outings at $55. The Dog Alchemy group class series, described as science-backed, is $50. Puppy programs are priced at $20, $55 and $110. A trainer-on-retainer option and a puppy petting zoo also appear on the menu.
