About Double-C Dog Training
A Klamath Falls training tradition since 1975
Double-C is a pet resort, day care, grooming, shopping and dog training center on Washburn Way in Klamath Falls. Its story starts in 1975, when friends JoAnne Carson and Lois Coryell began teaching dog training classes together. Both competed in AKC Obedience and National Obedience Tournaments, co-authored two Dog Obedience Lesson Plan Training Manuals and donated their time to rewrite the Oregon 4-H Dog Training Manuals. Steve and JoAnne Carson built the center, which opened in March 1992, and it now includes a fully matted indoor training arena and a large outdoor agility yard. Double-C says over 25,000 dogs have been trained through its classes and private lessons since 1975.
Classes and prices
Training uses positive step-by-step techniques so dogs and first-time trainers learn quickly. Group classes meet for one hour once a week for 3 weeks and focus on basic obedience: Puppy Kindergarten for puppies 8 to 16 weeks and Beginning for dogs 4 months and older are $80 each. The goal is a dog with good manners that walks at your side, stays and comes eagerly when called. Private 45-minute lessons with a trainer, on the skills or behaviors of your choice, are $49.
