East Lamar Boarding & Training School is a dog daycare, boarding and training business in East Austin, founded by Lamar Bowman, an East Austin native who also founded Neighbors Dog Park. Lamar completed a 7 month training program through the Austin Animal Center, has over 10 years of experience training and caring for dogs, and is CPR certified and an AKC CGC evaluator. He uses only complete positive reinforcement: no punishing, yelling or using the word "no", and instead redirection, consistency and leading with love.

Personalized training

Training starts at home, since dogs are most themselves there: the first sessions walk the neighborhood and work in the living room to set rules and boundaries. Owners learn sit, down, stand, stay, loose leash walking and recall, plus how to handle unwanted behaviors, and dogs past the basics get an assessment and a custom plan. One-on-one sessions are $100 for puppies under 1 year and $150 for dogs over 1 year.

Daycare and boarding

Daycare includes adventure walks, basic obedience and outdoor time, and kennel-free boarding has staff on site 24/7 in a home-like property made up of two homes.
