About Enrichment Dog Training
Who trains here
Enrichment Dog Training is the practice of Sean Hutcheon, a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA-CTP) who graduated with distinction from the academy's Dog Trainer Professional program. His about page says he spent 20 years as a commercial photographer before a high-drive Border Collie named Norman led him into positive reinforcement and clicker training. He names Emma Parsons as a teacher, lists work as a handler and trainer at Far Fetched Acres and then Berkshire Humane Society, and says he is an acting instructor at Family Dog School.
Where sessions happen
The FAQ puts the standard service area at a 10-mile radius around Hillsdale, NY. The Walk & Train page names Copake, Claverack, Ghent, Chatham, Hudson and Egremont, MA inside that circle, with travel beyond it billed at $1.50 per additional mile. The site footer gives Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster Counties as its in-person service areas, and consultations can also run by video.
What the training covers
The home page splits the work into everyday training (puppy training, leash skills and walking, manners and obedience, and outlets for high-drive and working dogs) and more challenging behavior, including anxiety, fear, reactivity and aggression, worked through management, positive reinforcement and counterconditioning. The FAQ adds that dogs needing a clinical behavior modification plan for severe dog-on-human aggression, severe resource guarding or intense separation anxiety are referred to a regional specialist.
Method
The FAQ describes clicker training as marker-based positive reinforcement: the click marks the exact moment a dog gets something right. Food teaches a new skill, and once the behavior is reliable the treats are phased out in favor of real-world rewards such as opening the front door, throwing a ball or going for a sniff.
Programs and prices
Every package starts with the Initial Consultation & Strategy Session, $140 on the services page and described in the FAQ as a 75-minute evaluation. The Practical Foundations Package is $550 for four 60-minute private lessons at home or a pet-friendly spot, with weekly homework PDFs and text and email support. Single Topic Intensive Sessions are $140 for one focused hour on a problem such as vet and grooming handling, door bolting or settling on a mat. Walk & Train sessions are $60 each, sold in packages: Sean picks the dog up at home for a 45 to 60 minute training walk and sends a video clip and a short text afterward, so owners do not need to be home.
