Feels Like Home: Dog Care is a cage-free daycare and boarding business run from a home on Railroad Avenue in Santee, and it also offers dog training. The owner says he is a certified dog trainer through Animal Behavior College and has fostered and rehomed dozens of dogs with his wife.

Training sessions

Basic obedience sessions run for an hour and use positive reinforcement to teach sit, lay, stay, come and basic leash skills, so owners learn how to reinforce behavior at home. Leash training sessions also run for an hour and start with the leash, collar or harness setup, matched to the size and strength of both owner and dog and to the dog's reactivity, before working on calmer walks.
