About Fidelity K9

Small-scale training in Omaha

Fidelity K9 is an Omaha dog training business founded by Steve, who wanted to stay connected to his customers and their dogs. Effective February 1, 2025, training runs entirely out of Steve's family home, in the original space where the business began. Over the years it has trained service dogs for military veterans, therapy dogs for hospitals and senior care facilities, protection and sport dogs, and countless family dogs.

Training approach

Training is described as motivational at its core, built on communication, motivation and trust. Dogs are weaned off treats so that effective praise becomes their reward, and the philosophy draws on classical and operant conditioning to build confidence and reduce anxiety.

Programs

Offerings include K9 Camp, board and train, day training, puppy and family training, advanced obedience, Canine Good Citizen preparation, aggression work, protection training, training for blind and deaf dogs, groom training for calmer grooming and vet visits, and therapy dog preparation toward Alliance of Therapy Dogs certification. Free training assessments are available.

Credentials

Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Human and Social Services from Grace University and lists a Master Trainer certification from North State K-9 Academy, a Protection Sports Association Protection Dog Certificate and AKC evaluator status for Canine Good Citizen, Trick Dog and S.T.A.R. Puppy.
