About First Choice Canine

Off-leash obedience from Brentwood

First Choice Canine is a dog training company with its office and facility at 11 Scrabble Rd in Brentwood, New Hampshire. It was founded by Khaled Behisy, who, according to the company, has trained dogs for celebrities, government officials, FBI agents, S.W.A.T., royalty and business executives, and has spent the past 25 years training hundreds of personal protection dogs. He also formed Protection Dogs Plus, which supplies family protection dogs.

Approach

Training starts by getting to know the owner and dog and preparing a custom plan based on the dog's size, breed, age, behavior and personality. The company believes off-leash obedience is the best way to enjoy a dog, and works through advanced exercises in the environments a dog faces every day before teaching owners to maintain the training. The company describes a first stage of foundation training built on marking the moment, with plenty of praise and reward, followed by phases aimed at reliable real-world obedience without depending on tools.

Programs

Programs include on and off-leash obedience, puppy training covering obedience, housebreaking and crate training, behavior modification for issues such as barking, chewing and separation anxiety, and aggressive dog rehabilitation.
