About Flush em’ High Kennel
Bird dog training on the Undem Ranch
Flush 'em High Kennel is a bird dog kennel serving Glendive, run by Jim and Cindy O'Shea on the Undem Ranch in eastern Montana, remote ground where wild birds are plentiful. Jim is credited with over 30 years of dog training experience across upland bird hunting, duck hunting, field trials and year-round training, and he guides in wild upland game country.
Training
The kennel calls itself old school: "Worn out boots and repetitions are our daily rule." Its approach is to spend lots of time on positive communication and adjust each lesson to the individual dog, starting with proper socialization. Every dog gets a plan with clear goals, moving from an introduction to the kennel to field work and then water work. Basic obedience takes 2 months, a started dog typically 3 to 6 months, and a gun dog about 3 to 6 months, depending on how quickly the dog learns. The kennel trains for pointing, flushing and retrieving, and it also breeds and offers started gun dogs.
What to ask
Ask about pricing, current openings and whether your dog's age suits the started or gun dog program.
