Gun dog training in Ballantine

Fly Creek Kennels is a gun dog training and boarding kennel at 2275 East I Rd in Ballantine, just outside Billings. Previously Big Sky Dog Training, it says it was established in 2004. It offers gun dog training and basic obedience training, plus boarding for dogs of all types, sizes and ages.

The trainer

Owner and operator Marty Golden is described as a certified canine trainer behavior specialist educated at Triple Crown Dog Academy (now Starmark Academy), where he later apprenticed for seven months in the gun dog department. He returned to Billings and ran Big Sky Dog Training, working with owners on behavior and communication, before building the Ballantine facility. The training grounds cover ten acres with a large pond and a 2,000 square foot kennel building. His own words: "When a dog is confused, don't be so quick to blame the dog."
