About Freedom Canines International

A service dog nonprofit in Wimberley

Freedom Canines International (FCI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Wimberley that raises and trains mobility service dogs, hearing dogs, diabetic alert dogs and facility dogs, placing them free of charge with people in need. A school program has student puppy raisers help care for and train future service dogs.

Pet dog training

FCI also runs community training classes for pet owners in Wimberley and the surrounding areas, using positive training techniques to address basic obedience and behavior challenges and build stronger bonds between dogs and their families. Experienced instructors lead the classes, and a class schedule is posted for enrollment.

For professional trainers

FCI offers hands-on education for professional dog trainers who want to expand into service dog training.
