About Gaffey Dog Training
Positive in-home training in Denton
Gaffey Dog Training is a Denton dog training and behavior consulting business serving Denton County, run by Kim Gaffey, a CPDT-KA certified trainer, APDT member and AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator who has trained since 2011. It uses positive, reward-based training without fear, intimidation, force or pain, follows the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior's mission statement, and has completed an Aggression in Dogs Master Course.
Programs
Private in-home training covers basic manners, jumping, crate training, excess energy, chewing, leash manners and fear and anxiety. Puppy Starter, for 8 to 16 weeks, covers potty and crate training, nipping, socialization and basic skills. Basic Manners teaches sit, stay, down, leave it, come, loose-leash walking and polite greetings, and City Manners takes those skills to parks, sidewalks and outdoor cafes. Canine Good Citizen and therapy dog preparation is also offered, and small group classes and workshops include Puppy Kindergarten. Private sessions are $100 an hour, $270 for 3 or $450 for 5.
