About Hamptons Service Dogs
Hamptons Service Dogs in Sag Harbor
Hamptons Service Dogs is a Sag Harbor trainer focused on psychiatric service dog training, a program it calls "rooted in compassion, science, and respect." Trainer Carah von Funk brings "more than 30 years of animal training experience" and puts fairness and positive reinforcement at the front of her philosophy.
Service dog training
Dogs and puppies of all ages and sizes learn to navigate public settings calmly and confidently. Training is individualized, and owners take an active part, working toward an ADA-compliant service dog that can go on leash to restaurants, shops, hotels, schools, doctors' appointments, hospitals, beaches, jitneys and commercial flights. Psychiatric service dogs help people with conditions such as PTSD, severe depression and anxiety disorders by performing tasks like interrupting panic attacks or providing deep pressure therapy.
Companion training
Owners who simply want a better-behaved dog are welcome too, for training that turns a best friend into "a well mannered canine companion."
