About Happy-Go-Lucky Dog Training
A Portland training school since 1999
Happy-Go-Lucky Dog Training at 601 NE 28th Ave, just off NE Glisan, has been "training dogs and their people in Portland since 1999." Its motto is "positive methods, rewarding results," and the team cites 80 years of combined experience. All trainers and assistants are on staff to keep methods consistent.
Classes
Group classes include Puppy Kindergarten, Beginning Obedience, Puppy Intermediate, Intermediate Obedience, Intro to Rally Obedience, Rally Intermediate, Action & Distraction, Games & Tricks and Canine Good Citizen, with plenty of one-on-one attention and hands-on practice. Private sessions suit owners whose schedule fits a one-on-one format better than a class.
Day Training School
Day Training is a twice-a-week drop-off service: dogs attend on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays, with up to 10 dogs per day, to fast-track training, manners and social skills.
What owners say
One reviewer called it "compassionate training based on rewarding positive behavior rather than punishing your dog for being a dog."
