About Happy Puppy

Cage-free daycare and boarding in Naperville since 2002

Happy Puppy runs from 10S274 Schoger Dr, Ste B in Naperville and the site states it “is owned and operated by Kevin Mehling and has been in business since April 1, 2002.” The about page heading is “Treating Your Dog Like Family Since 2002,” and boarding is cage-free rather than kenneled.

The facility

The services page describes a licensed and insured indoor and outdoor facility with “over 5,000 square feet of open, fenced play space,” divided so that “less active and delicate pooches” have their own area behind a revolving door. It lists temperature control, remote monitoring, 24-hour video surveillance, textured epoxy flooring chosen to reduce slipping, specialty K-9 grass, play equipment designed for dogs, separate gated areas for time-outs, feeding and sleeping, and futons and dog beds. Daycare runs seven days a week, year round. The page says staff are trained and certified in dog CPR and adds, in parentheses, “We haven’t had one vet emergency in all 24 years of being in business.”

Training

Training is listed among the services as “Professional Dog Training” and the page describes it as a “long-standing, results-driven training program” that is “now available to all dogs, regardless of whether they utilize our daycare or boarding services,” specializing in “clear communication and reliable behaviors.” Details and pricing are handled on request, so ask what the program covers and what it costs. Grooming, spa services and in-home pet sitting round out the offer.
