Hilltop Dog Camp near Lexington

Hilltop Dog Camp is a family-run boarding, day camp and training business on almost 30 acres near Lexington, Texas, northeast of Austin. The family lives on site, and staff are certified in dog CPR and first aid. Shuttles run around Lexington and as far as Austin and College Station.

Training

Hilltop believes in balanced training, pairing praise, treats or a clicker for wanted behavior with fair consequences. Basic Obedience (on leash, about 2-3 weeks) covers leash manners, crate training, sit, down, here, heel and place. Advanced Obedience (off leash, about 3-4 weeks) adds distraction, duration and distance work and includes a Dogtra electronic collar. Both include a teach-the-owner lesson, and a discounted 4-6 week combo is offered. Puppies under 6 months can join Puppy Camp (2 or 4 weeks) or a potty training and puppy obedience stay. Private lessons are held at Hilltop or at the owner's place, and Dogs on Location group classes meet around Austin for pack walks and reactive-dog skills.

Boarding in indoor/outdoor runs or cage-free in the house, day camp from 7am-7pm and private dog park rental.
