What they offer

Hodge Canine offers private lessons, with in-home sessions available throughout the East Valley Phoenix metro area, and a board and train in which dogs live and train in the trainer's home for two, four or six weeks, followed by transfer lessons for the owner. New clients start with an in-person or online evaluation.

Who it suits

The business deliberately limits how many dogs it works with at once, which it says matters most for reactive dogs and families who have run out of options. The trainer, Joe, is a former Army K9 handler whose work has increasingly focused on reactive dogs; he lists certifications from Animal Behavior College, American K-9 Interdiction and the NePoPo System Gold School and has titled dogs in AKC Obedience, AKC Scent Work and IGP.
