How 2 Speak Dog is a Spring Hill dog training and behavior consulting service built on the idea that dogs have a language of their own, mostly body language, that owners can learn to read. It aims to help families end up with a dog that is calm and reliable at home and in public. Its consultants describe themselves as science-based, positive reinforcement, force-free and fear-free, using relationship-building and communication-enhancing techniques.

How it works

Training runs virtually, in person within 30 miles of Spring Hill, or as a mix. Virtual support covers video, chat, text, phone and email, with custom behavior modification plans and live support between sessions. Topics range from jumping, barking, door dashing and leash pulling to fear, separation anxiety, resource guarding, aggression toward other dogs, noise phobias, introducing a new dog and starting a puppy right.

Prices

Live consults are sold a la carte: 90 minutes $250, 60 minutes $195, 30 minutes $85, and a 15-minute call at no charge. The Respectable Rover program ($475) includes a 90-minute initial session, one live follow-up session, weekday between-session support, 3 months of community access and lifetime resource library access. A Really Reliable Rover program is also offered, and there is a free Facebook group.
