What they offer
The Humane Society for Southwest Washington runs a dog training program from its Vancouver campus, with classes that use positive reinforcement to shape and modify behavior and build a strong bond between dog and owner. It was voted best dog trainer in Clark County in a 2026 local poll.
Classes
The six-week Puppy Essentials class covers socialization, training, activity and responsible ownership for puppies under six months, with a people-only first session. The full class menu, run when scheduled, includes Puppy Pre-School for puppies of 9 to 16 weeks, Teen Manners for adolescent dogs, Basic Manners for everyday life skills such as sit and stay, recall, loose-leash and heel walking and greetings, Advanced Manners as Canine Good Citizen preparation, Reactive Rover for dogs that react in stressful settings, and Calm Canine for easily overstimulated or anxious dogs. Check where the current classes meet when you register.
