About Humaner Trainer

Pet dog training the humane way

Humaner Trainer is an Austin dog training school whose motto is "pet dog training the humane way". Its mission is to enrich the lives of people and their pets with scientifically proven educational programs in an environment that supports fun, fellowship and learning. The team includes trainers Margaret Johnson and Kathleen Hamilton.

Classes and private work

Puppy Preschool is an open-enrollment problem-prevention and socialization class for puppies 16 weeks and under. Canine Academy group obedience and manners classes run in levels of increasingly challenging exercises, and the upper levels fold in rally courses, games and practice for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. Rally Obedience is open to purebreds, mixed breeds and dogs with disabilities. Behavior consultations address emotionally rooted problems such as aggression, separation anxiety, phobias and house training, working with the whole family. A private lesson series teaches basic manners at the Dog Ranch or entirely at the client's home.

What owners say

One client called Margaret Johnson "the quintessential dog trainer", good with "little dogs, big dogs, edgy dogs, calm dogs".

What to ask
