About Hunters Creek Retrievers – Top Dog Training USA

Hunters Creek Retrievers and Top Dog Training USA

Hunters Creek Retrievers is a Greater Houston Labrador Retriever kennel, established in 1991, that breeds dogs for family, field, sport, therapy and service work. Its training arm, Top Dog Training USA, offers private dog training for all breeds and ages, from first commands to advanced field work.

Training

Top Dog Training USA builds practical training around the dog, the family and their everyday goals. Its menu runs from puppy foundations, obedience, manners and behavior to field, gun dog, AKC, service, detection and specialty work. New clients start with a Training Application describing their dog and goals so John Tate can prepare for an evaluation. Private phone consultations with John are offered in 30- and 60-minute lengths, at $99.50 and $175 during a sale running through Thanksgiving 2026.

Puppy Head Start

Hunters Creek puppies can complete Puppy Head Start before going home: crate training and basic obedience with COME, SIT and HEEL taught by whistle, hand signals and verbal commands, plus early neurological conditioning, stress conditioning and a temperament evaluation.
