About Inspired Paws of Cookeville

Inspired Paws of Cookeville is primarily a boarding business – the site's own headline is "Boarding Done with Love and Care!" – but it is included here because of two things it does that no other operator in this metro publishes.

Brush-up training rather than a training program

They do not sell a course. What they sell is maintenance of training a dog already has: "Trained dogs by ThunderHawk Canine will receive brush up training sessions and will have the option to add brush up training to their boarding!", and "If trained by other companies we are more than happy to maintain their training as well!" It is priced as a boarding add-on, five dollars a day for ThunderHawk clients and ten for everyone else. If you need a dog taught something new, this is not the program.

Canine fitness

The second speciality is conditioning. The site describes itself as "Middle Tennessee’s own Certified Canine Fitness Trainer" and says it is "Offering fitness programs for everything from loss, post surgical, and athlete." Treadmill work is sold by the minute alongside adventure walks and scent-style sniffari walks, with GPS collars and Air Tags on dogs taken off site.

Who runs it

The owner is named on the site as Carmen Trojcak, who "started with Thunderhawk Canine in April of 2017", trained dogs there through 2022, and "Starting December of 2022 she started up Inspired Paws of Cookeville!" Her listed credentials are that "Carmen became an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, CPR First Aid Cat and Dog Certified, and Certified Canine Fitness Trainer." The site also lists titles in dock diving and flyball, and says she "instructs AKC STAR Puppy, Basic, and Intermediate Obedience Classes at Thunderhawk Canine" – that is teaching she does at the other business, not a class offered here.
