About Janesville-Beloit Kennel Club
What it is
The site states that "Janesville-Beloit Kennel Club (JBKC) is a non-profit organization founded in the 1960s. We are a standing member of the AKC. We are dedicated to the advancement of purebred dogs and responsible dog ownership," and adds that "JBKC welcomes both members and non-members to participate in our training programs!" Its clubhouse and training facility address is published as "5416 W. County A / Janesville, Wisconsin 53548."
Classes
The club runs classes in sessions: "We offer training classes year-round, including obedience, agility, rally, scent work, and more. Our experienced instructors work with dogs and handlers at every level." The Session 5 list published on the home page runs "Agility 3: Skills, Handling & Sequencing, Barn Hunt, CGC, CGCA, Competition Open Obedience, Family Dog, Hoopers 1, Intro to Scent Work, Reactive Dog, STAR Puppy 1, STAR Puppy 2, Tricks, Young Family Dog," with "Scent Work, Novice/Intermediate Obedience, Competition Rally Excellent/Masters, Competition Rally Intermediate/Advanced" and "Conformation" offered as drop-ins.
What a class looks like
The Agility 3 page shows the detail each class page gives: "Tuesdays at 4:30 PM Starting Sept 15 with instructor Dawn Czerwan / 1 hour class – 6 weeks." It describes work "building strong obstacle performance while introducing handling techniques and short sequencing," with teams "developing confidence and fluency on jumps, tunnels, tire, table, and other agility equipment (excluding contact obstacles such as the dog walk and A-frame)." The published class fee on that page is $140/dog, prerequisites are "Completion of Agility 1: Foundations required or instructor approval," and classes are held at the County Road A facility.
Beyond classes
The club also hosts competition: "our all-breed dog show in May, obedience trials in January, biannual Barn Hunt in the spring and fall, and FastCAT trials," plus outreach the site describes as "educational programs, seminars, workshops, and so much more."
Before you book
Ask for fees on other classes. Ask what training methods the instructors use. The site names Dawn Czerwan as the Agility 3 instructor and Tammy Pooch as class coordinator.
