About Dynamic K9 WI, LLC

Who runs it

Dynamic K9 is a home-based dog training business in Whitewater. Its about page is titled "About Jake Deininger | Owner of Dynamic K9 in Whitewater, WI" and says "Jake has always had a passion for dogs. What started as a passion has slowly evolved into a business over the last 10 years. Jake started with training his own dog, Remi, as well as foster dogs. Soon, he was training dogs for his family and friends. Today, he is a full-time trainer booking weeks out for his board and trains while scheduling time for private trainings." The site describes the setup as "a home-based business located in Whitewater, WI. Between the four-car garage and three-acre lot, there is plenty of space for training!"

What you can book

Two formats are published. Board and train is pitched as "Imagine having a well-trained dog, without disrupting your busy schedule. At Dynamic K9, we take the stress off your plate by training your dog for you. We work with your dog multiple times daily to eliminate bad habits, boost obedience, and build confidence in real-world environments." Private training is "Private 1-on-1 training sessions for owners who are more hands-on and want to take the time to work with their dog with professional guidance," with the caveat that "Owners must practice their homework and work on the exercises daily with their dog to reach their goals." The site's own service list reads "Board & Train, Puppy Training, Obedience Training, Aggressive & Reactive, Private Training," and the training page adds the problems it takes on: "Naughty Puppy Behavior," "Leash Pulling," "Aggressive & Reactive," "Excessive Barking," "Overexcitement" and "Poor Recall."

Where it happens

"Located in Whitewater, Wisconsin, Dynamic K9 typically serves customers within a 20-mile radius. For all board and trains, dogs are dropped off and picked up from our location. For private training, sessions can be held at Dynamic K9 or the client's home." The site repeatedly offers to start with "a free in-home consultation to discuss your dog and goals."

Method, in the site's own words

The about page carries a "SHIELD PRO TRAINER CERTIFIED" heading and explains it: "Shield Pro training involves motivation-based techniques to foster clear communication between dogs and owners. The training philosophies revolve around positive motivation, clear communication, reliable results, and adaptability." It is candid about tools: "Motivation-based training involves a combination of positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, and punishment. Often, an e-collar is used to enhance communications while treats, play, and praise are used as rewards."

Before you book

Ask about program prices; the site notes that its quoted price "is valid only for residences within 20 miles of Dynamic K9 and is subject to change based on distance." The published success stories describe off-leash board and train programs of differing lengths, so program length appears to vary by dog.
