About Janine Allen, Certified Professional Dog Trainer

What they offer

Janine Allen is a certified professional dog trainer and behavior specialist. Her site lists pet dog training, aggressive and fearful behavior rehabilitation, house manners, board and train and service dog training. From October through May she serves Rancho Mirage, Cathedral City, Palm Desert, Indian Wells and La Quinta.

How it works

Training starts with an initial behavior consultation at the client's home. Together with the owner she decides whether to board and train the dog, come to the home for a series of sessions, or give advice from afar by video chat, email and phone.

Approach

The site says she uses modern applied behavioral science and adheres to the Humane Hierarchy set out by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, with techniques such as marker training, systematic desensitization and respondent conditioning. It credits her with 35 years of education and experience, including AKC obedience competition and competition field retrievers.
