About Jenners Run Ranch
Canine handling and training in Falls City
Jenner's Run is a canine handling and dog training property on Parry Road in Falls City. It offers an "immersion style" learning environment, with experienced instructors from many areas of canine handling delivering lectures and field exercises at small-group seminars for dog handlers and horse trainers. Jenner's Run occasionally has Labrador Retriever litters and young dogs from working parents with OFA, CERF, EIC and CNM clearances.
The owner
Ann Wichmann, who bought Jenner's Run for its capacity to host small-group seminars, began training service dogs in 1975 as a park ranger. She co-founded several search and rescue dog organizations, served on the FEMA Canine Subcommittee from 1991 until 2004, and has certified nine canines to the FEMA disaster standard and seven to wilderness airscent standards.
Board and Train
A limited three-week Board and Train Program teaches the dog and then the owner obedience skills: come, sit, down, leave it, wait and stay, plus control around other dogs, small wild animals and livestock. Dogs get lessons several times a day, owners get a weekly lesson, and up to four follow-up lessons are included free.
