About K9 Defend

Who they are

K9 Defend Training Center is a Springfield training business whose site covers a notably wide span – from a pet dog's manners through to law enforcement patrol work. Its own summary is that it offers dog and handler training through classes, private lessons, seminars, and take home training, and that it provides training for all levels of companion and working dog teams.

What it covers

The published list runs: foundational and advanced obedience; off-leash control described as reliable performance in all environments; tracking and scent work including search and rescue and narcotics; competition training for dog sports; personal protection described as real-world protection with control; police and tactical K9 training covering patrol work, single and dual purpose; herding; service dog training for wheelchair and mobility assistance; medical alert; and PTSD assistance. The site also says it offers law enforcement K9 team handler training including tactics and case law.

Who it is aimed at

The framing on the page separates three audiences: owners who want to refine a pet's behavior, handlers training a working K9, and competitors. The emphasis throughout is on real-world application, with the stated goal of a dog team that is reliable and confident in its role.

Worth knowing

Ask by phone or email about prices, program lengths and who will train your dog. For a directory reader the practical point is the breadth: protection, police K9 and medical-alert service work are all lines that very few trainers in the Springfield area advertise, so this is one of the short list to call for them.
