About K9cation

What they offer

K9cation is a boarding and daycare business with two campuses; its Hudson/Brighton campus is a 45-acre working horse ranch at 1644 County Road 47 in Hudson. Short camper training sessions for leash manners, recall, impulse control and polite greetings can be added to a boarding or daycare stay at both campuses. The site lists board and train, private sessions and group training at its Fort Lupton/Firestone campus at 10848 County Road 19. Board and train comes in two tracks, one with weekends at home plus weekly owner lessons and one without breaks. Private sessions cover leash reactivity, aggression concerns, puppy foundations, anxiety and off-leash recall, and group classes include Puppy Foundations. Training consults and behavior assessments help pick a program, and the site also offers dog sport lessons and AKC virtual titles and CGC testing.

How they train

The site says training is tailored to each dog and that "Positive only training with no boundaries or consequences often ends in failed training." It describes customized approaches that use tools to support the individual dog, with owners involved in the learning.

Good to know

A behavior assessment is required for dogs with a bite history, aggression or serious reactivity. Ask which campus your dog's training would run at when you book.
