A family-oriented training center

Kudos 2 Canines is a dog training center serving South Salt Lake and the rest of Salt Lake County from 5932 South 350 West in Murray. Head trainer and owner Robyn Carlson started the business in February 2013 after a training career that began over 20 years ago with shelter dogs. She describes a balanced approach focused on positive reinforcement, and the center calls its methods positively balanced: reinforcing good behavior and shaping it with whatever motivates each dog most, with training tools taught when used. The whole family is welcome to join in.

Classes and prices

The Kudos Smart Start Puppy Package is an 8 week course for $295 for dogs 5 months and under, covering socialization, handling, potty and crate training, play biting and intro to leash. The Bright Beginnings course is 6 weeks for $249 for dogs 6 months and older, covering attention, sit, down, stay, come, leash walking and unwanted behaviors. Graduates can keep attending Junior Achievers classes through a membership, working on the 3 Ds of distance, duration and distraction, place, heel and recall. Adopted dogs get $20 off a puppy or beginner course.

Other programs

Kudos 2 Canines also offers advanced obedience, service and therapy dog preparation, shy dog classes, a Junior Handlers class, private lessons and boot camp programs. Classes run most weeknights and Sunday afternoons.
