About Kuma K9 Academy

Balanced training in Atlanta

Kuma K9 Academy is an Atlanta dog training business started by Shyama, who, according to its home page, saw a need for a trainer clients could lean on around the clock. It uses a balanced training method and offers basic obedience for dogs of all ages, with enrollment open from 8 weeks old.

Programs

The menu also covers AKC training, a service dog program with limited availability (dogs must pass an evaluation first) and a Fit Dog canine fitness option, plus dog and cat sitting.

Background

The about page says Shyama began working with dogs in 2017, apprenticed under several trainers, and studied veterinary technology and canine behavior at Penn Foster College. It also describes her work with rescues and shelters on fear, reactivity and aggression.
