About Lahki's Lessons

Lahki's Lessons LLC is a traveling dog training business whose banner reads "Balanced Dog Training for the Kansas City Area". Its own service-area line is explicit about crossing the state line: the business serves Missouri and Kansas, and names the areas as Kansas City, Liberty, Pleasant Valley, Glenaire, Gladstone, Smithville, Kearney, Lawson, Lathrop, North Kansas City, Parkville, Independence, Lee's Summit, Raytown, Grandview, Olathe, Overland Park and Leawood

What it works on

The home page names the problems directly – "leash pulling, not coming when called, jumping on people, non-stop barking, and MORE using Balanced Training" – and pitches to owners who have already tried food-led training without it holding, asking whether they have already tried treats and found it did not stick reliably when it mattered The stated aim is communication: the business "shows you exactly how to communicate with your pup in a clear and effective way, leaving no guesswork for you or your dog".

Background

The about page is a personal history rather than a credential list. The owner describes herself as a first-time dog owner in 2010 with a Dutch Shepherd and Blue Heeler mix named Lahki, adopted from Raytown Animal Shelter, who pulled hard, barked at other dogs and had no recall; after big-box store classes failed she hired a professional trainer in 2016 and found "relaxed walks, off-leash freedom, and a stronger relationship". The business is named after that dog, which the page says died in 2021.

Pricing and extras

The pricing page says "Contact for a Quote," explaining that programs are custom to the dog, the owner and the goals, and noting a mileage surcharge for clients more than an hour away. A required gear package is included in the price. A free adoption consult is offered separately, 30 to 60 minutes by phone, video or in person, to help a family choose a breed, age and size they can handle, and if a dog has been found it can be evaluated for training and behavior issues.
